The Cracker Factory is an exciting urban redevelopment and historic preservation project that transforms a complex of beautiful but underutilized 19th and early 20th century industrial buildings into a loft condominium project of 18 unique one and two bedroom units. The overall redevelopment project, includes more than 30 loft condominiums and single family units.
The exterior of the building was restored, the brickwork cleaned and re-pointed, the wood cornices and trim repaired and new, energy efficient, historically appropriate windows installed. The interior has been completely reconfigured. One unit, which totals almost 3000sf on two levels, is located in the original baking area and has a beautiful arched ceiling and terra cotta floors. In addition to taking advantage of the historic character of the building, the units have been designed to be extremely energy efficient and to use sustainable design features.
